A few years ago on vacation, Glenn Ochi was first introduced to handcrafted cold process soaps and immediately fell in love with the way it lathered and left his skin feeling really clean. Glenn has had sensitive skin all his life and always felt there was a residue left on his skin when he used commercial soaps. After learning about the harmful ingredients that were in commercial soaps, he was inspired to make his own soaps for his own personal use. This soon turned into a hobby, which soon turned into an addiction for creating homemade artisan soaps. Glenn's background as a professional Chef inspired him to create and infuse food grade ingredients together by utilizing the finest ingredients, along with pure essential oils in all of my blends. His belief system of serving the highest quality meals to my customers are the same high standards that he puts into every bar of my soaps.
Since the beginning of December 2010 Geta Clean Soaps was created out of a passion to provide an alternative to commercial soaps. “Geta” is a traditional Japanese wooden clog. Not sure how this translate to soap but liked the play on words “Get a Clean”. Maybe it was how he always wanted to feel after a shower. Maybe it is brining on old traditional craft into the modern world. In the long run Glenn would like to educate people to be more aware of what they are putting on and into their bodies. he also wanted do my part in saving the planet so his package design is green.
